Dog Walks

 {Oversized Blazer: Daisy Rae; Top: similar; Jeans: similar; Shoes: Target; Sunglasses: similar}

 Now that the weather is nice, I started taking my dogs for a walk every morning. And let me tell you, I am so sore! I've worked muscles I didn't even know I had. There is some side butt muscle that now hurts when I walk. It's not like I am completely out of shape. I workout five times a week for at least an hour. But that didn't prepare me for a 70lb lab and 63lb bulldog pulling on me the entire walk. The neighbors just chuckle at the site of two dogs pulling me along. And they often comment that it looks more like the dogs are taking me for a walk than me talking the dogs for a walk.

We live by a bunch of vineyards with a canal running through so I thought I could walk there and let the dogs run around. That way, they wouldn't pull as hard on the way back. And although it was a good thought, it didn't quit work. The bulldog, Tugg, was worn out but our lab, Skip, still had plenty of energy to pull me all the way home. And still I will get up and do it all again tomorrow because the doggies just love there walks. I mean, how could you say no to these faces?

Let me introduce you to my new favorite necklace. I got this necklace about a week ago and can't quit wearing it. I love it! I think a pop of neon yellow adds a fun touch to just about any outfit.

Also, this might be my favorite blazer. The only reason  I say "might" is because I'm also really loving this blue blazer too and of course the lace blazer I featured in my last post. Basically, all blazers are my favorite. You really can't have too many blazers. It's just not possible.

When I saw Olivia Palermo in her lace blazer, I fell in love! (Of course, when do I not love her outfits). So when I saw the lace blazer I'm wearing, I knew I had to get it for my store. This blazer is lightweight and perfect for spring and summer. Plus, the color goes with everything. I have so many outfits planned for it.

Dress Turned Skirt

 {Top: Daisy Rae; Skirt (Dress turned Skirt): T.J. Maxx; Bag: similar: Shoes: Just Fab; Jewelry: Premier Designs; Headband: Target; Sunglasses: Target similar}

Remember in this post how I told you I don't like to wear dresses? I wasn't kidding. I couldn't even stand to wear a maxi dress! I got this maxi dress a couple years ago and had only worn it a few times. So I decided to cut it up and make it into the maxi skirt I am wearing today. And when I say I made it into a skirt, I really mean I took it to a seamstress and had her do it. I'm just not talented enough to do it myself. I really like it as a skirt! What do you think of the maxi dress turned skirt?

Shh, Don't Tell My Doctor & Liebster Award

{Top: Forever21; Jeans: Marshalls; Fedora: unkown; Sunglasses: gift; Jewelry: Premier Designs; Flats: Prairie Rose; Bag: Vieta}

Shhhh! Don't tell my podiatrist that I'm wearing flats. I have had problems with my feet my whole life gaining me many trips to the podiatrist and orthotics to wear in my tennis shoes. On my most recent visit to the doctor, I was told me feet were so bad he couldn't bare to see me walk. Harsh, right? I knew my feet were in pain but I didn't realize I was that bad. Sure,  I hadn't seen my podiatrist in five years and had been wearing flats more than usual which don't fit my orthotics but does it really matter that much? Apparently, it does. My feet took a turn for the worse. I was diagnosed with posterior tibial tendonitis and was told I will have to have surgery later in life. He said in order to delay surgery as a long as possible, I must take care of my feet. Which means no more flats. I have to wear tennis shoes with my orthotics or (and here comes the good news) HEELS! Yay! Finally doctor permission to wear heels! At least it wasn't all bad!

P.S. I received the Liebster Award from the lovely Ashley at A Decorative Piece of Citrus Zest  I am so excited that someone liked my blog enough to give me this award! Thanks Ashley!

For those of you who don't know, this award goes to new blogs with less than 200 followers. The German word "Liebster" translates in English to "beloved" or "favorite" (thanks Ashley for that info). Time to spread the love:

Catalina Island

The best sister in the world! I love you Jamie!
Day One: Celebrating that we made it to the top on our unexcpected hike.
Day Two: Headed to breakfast and then shopping
Ready to go parasailing!
We went 800ft. up!
Getting dipped in the water

Relaxing on the beach

Dinner and dancing
Day Three: Our last day...we woke up early and went and a morning hike
The view from our hike. Our hotel was just 1/2 a block from the beach.

We had the best time celebrating for my sister's bachelorette party!

This past weekend my four best friends and I went to Catalina Island to celebrate my sister, Jamie's, upcoming wedding! We have all been friends since I was in first grade (Jamie, Cori and Elizabeth were in 2nd and Liz, our cousin, was in kindergarten). We made some wonderful memories that none of us will ever forget.

I think everyone's favorite part was parasailing. It was a blast! Our least favorite part...our plane home being delayed for two hours. But what can you do? You can sleep in the airport for two hours, which is exactly what we did.

I had the best time ever with my favorite people! Love you gals!

Hiking Shoes

Catalina Island was so much fun!!!! I'm super tired today and haven't even made it out of my pj's yet (it's 6:00pm)

This is the outfit I wore going to Catalina. When we got there we decided to start exploring the island and ended up hiking a blocked off dirt path to the top of a hill/mountain that overlooked the town and beach. We took these pictures once we reached the top. Since we weren't planning on this hike, me, my sister, and our friend Elizabeth were all wearing three inch wedge heels. But surprisingly, nobody fell and I think I found my new favorite hiking shoes/wedges ;-)

I'll post more pictures from our trip tomorrow!
